Today is Good Friday and finally a super long weekend for me. This is the week that I have been waiting for as i can finally rest myself after a long and tiring week. Just as I woke up to a bright and sunny day, my wife, with her unusual smile, began to ask me, “Dear, Wanna cross the causeway for some “makan” and also to buy few sets of curtains for our home?”
Sigh!!, i told myself, that a heavy jam would be expected across the causeway both at the First and second link. However under the “boh-pian” act, a singlish for no other way out to avoid it, I begin to wash up and get ready for the trip. No matter how hard i tried to remove those negative thoughts from my head with regards to the traffic congestion, i have no choice but to just follow whatever that she had asked me earlier on.
Ok so we moved off at 9am in the morning and upon reaching the 2nd link prior to the Immigration booth, it was quite relieved to see that there were fewer cars than expected. After happily passing through the immigration checks, and passing through the bridge, i was shocked to see that the traffic congestion has already started from the malaysian side, and as i begun to recall the distance from there to the Malaysian Immigration booth, i nearly wanted to cry as it’s still far far far away…..
So to cut it short, finally pass through the whole ordeal and reach the hit geylang patah rest area around 2pm. What a nightmare, and as shown below, just a glimpse of the whole traffic congestion. However, not a good angle to take as it was a hot Friday afternoon and no way am I going to step out from the car.
