Today, I read the Straits Time and got the shock of hearing more ERP Gantries and Higher ERP Rates but was quite delighted to find permanent 15% cut in Road Tax. Luckily for me, there is no requirement for me to pass through any ERP Gantry from home to work, oh yes, unless they build the ERP Gantry at the affected Area.
Pity for my friends, as most of them are affected and with the above implementation, some of them has made a drastic move of not driving to work, except for leisure with family. The permanent cut in Road Tax comes just in time as I got myself a new car and thus, brightens up my day. J
ERP coverage will be expanded, where 16 more gantries will be activated this year, adding to the current 55 gantries
April 7: Gantries that will be activated
- Upper Bukit Timah Road
- Toa Payoh Lorong 6
- Upper Boon Keng Road
- Geylang Bahru
- Kallang Bahru
July 7: 5 New Gantries
- Eu Tong Sen Street
- New Bridge Road
- South Bridge Road
- Both sides of Fullerton Road
November 3: 6 More Gantries
- Commonwealth Avenue
- Jalan Bukit Merah
- Alexandra Road
- AYE (westbound)
- PIE (west bound)
- Serangoon Road
So with all the increases in ERP and so on, guess nowadays has to really watch on what we spend. So this post is just to share with you all. No wonder nowadays, SG CAR MART web site is so full of WRXs and other makes of car. All less than 2 years.
