On 19/01/2008, at 9.30am, (supposedly to be at 10.30am but Kan Chong Mah), I collected my new car at Motor Image Toa Payoh. This time around, My Sales Executive (SE), by the name of “Ah Kim” was there waiting for me.
Well, very excited for my new car, my first car equipped with a Turbo. Well, was shown to my car, which is Osedian Pearl Black in colour. I was advised by my SE to take it easy and get used to the car first and warn me many times not to try to race it for the mean time (Yah right, as if I’m a racer like that).
Ok so, I Nodded him and was so eagerly to leave the place and finally was handed over the keys. This time around, since it’s a JDM WRX, the keys are slightly thinner. So at 11am sharp, I left the building and on my way back home with the WRX.
As usual the petrol was left with one quarter (standard procedure for new car collection), and immediately went to the nearby petrol kiosk where this Over Friendly uncle greeted me and told me, “WAh Ho say Lah, Kereta baru Beli ah ? “ meaning that I just bought my car and I said yes but was surprised when he told me why I choose Auto instead of manual. Ok this time, I just smile and walk off, citing my injury on my left Leg.
Of course, like what I had done to my previous car, the next few paragraph of in future, any thread that I pos, will be highlighted on my car modifications. This served as a reminder for myself in future, who knows, when u are old and u have a blog, u can read through and realized, Wah that was when I was younger.
My Car Upon Collection (stock condition)
1) Exhaust and Rims
Like a typical Singaporean, 2 days before I collected my car, I was in search of a 2nd hand HKS Legamax (the only Approved one for JDM WRX) and finally met this guy on the Subaru Forum and I bought it earlier. For Rims, I happen to meet this nice chap called Danny where we agreed to Swap only the Rims, but decided to keep the tyres for ourselves.
Well, it might sound tedious to swap rims but keeping the tyres but I was reluctant to let go of my brand new Bridgestone RE01 tyres. So on that same day after I collected my car, I arrange for an appointment with Danny who drove a white colour Subaru TS and we did the swapping at a tyre shop in Bukit Timah.
Finally a nice pair of “Shoes” for my Rex. After that, I decided to give Jacky from Merlin a call and informed him of the good news of my new car and decided to proceed to his shop to install the Exhaust which I had bought earlier. Thank God, on that day, there is still slot for me at his workshop and when I reached there, it doesn’t take long for him to replace the stock exhaust which I guess had some restriction and what a feeling after the HKS Legamax was installed. Could feel the so called “Orgasm” of sound which is bassier and of coz nicer than the stock ones.
Well, after that, off I go, thanking Jacky for the quick installation but didn’t have the time to take a picture of the installation though. I could immediately feel the surge in the pick-up and more responsive after the Installation.

2) Dent? Not Again ?
On the 26/01/2008, after having my breakfast with my family at Adam Road Foodcourt, was shocked to find a 5 cent size of dent at the driver side. I was quite frustrated and curse the M@#%@% who had done it.
Not again, why must people be so irresponsible when opening the door. I couldn’t find the culprit but what I remember was a white Mercedes was parked there an hour earlier but then again, no point , of pointing fingers as I didn’t witness it myself.
Well, like people said, once a dent started, it will keep coming no matter where you park. Well, I will pray that my car would be safely park, hopefully. Hahaha.
3) 4D Near Miss
Ok, so on the evening of 26/01/2008, after that stupid dent by dumb A@#%@ H#@%, a collegue of mine rang me up and asked me, “hey bro, did u buy your car no? Come out lah, Opposite but still kan kana if u buy system? “ I was liked “What ? too bad I didn’t buy it” as my car plate number came out as consolation.
4) Dent again at the rear boot
This time, was caused by my beloved Mother. Hahaha. Took out something heavy from the boot and didn’t realized that she placed it on the rear boot, nearest to the bumper area as a supporting place.
Too late when I shouted at her and when she realized, there was a slight dent. Wel,, all I could do is “Sigh!!!!! My poor WRX not a month old and 2 dents already” ? nevermind, is it a time for Stickers ? hehehehehe. No I don’t think so, “STay Stock Dun Mod” hehehehe
