I was proud of Hady Mirza of being crowned Asian Idol in an inaugural contest held in Jakarta. He beats five other contestants from host country Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam and India.
Well expect for the next few days of newspapers with articles and stories on him. Honestly, prior to that Asian Idol competition, not much publicity was seen on him participating in it. However, its after he Won that many people realized that there was an Asian Idol.
Surveys were being done, mostly from my group of friends and most of them agreed that the publicity before the event was not known. Ok so much so on Hady Mirza, I was listening to a local malay radio in the morning, and there were few listeners who call or even have the cheek to send an sms informing that he was no match for Taufik, our first Singapore Idol.
I couldn’t believe what was said on-air and to me is that, at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter who is good or what, as Hady had done his best and make Singapore Proud.
