Laser cameras caught 3400 motorist on the newly-opened KPE.Many were unaware that the speed limit for the new tunnel is 70km/h.45 of them were caught clocking more than 110km/h and 1 vehicle clocked at more than 140km/h.
Traffic Police(TP) informed that one of the reason was that,KPE tunnels were equipped by highly accurate digital laser cameras,the first of their kind used here.They work 24 hours a day and never run out of film.
Anyway,good luck to those speedster as TP will either issue warning letters or summonses and those exceeding 110km/h will be hauled to court.If convicted,they face fines of up to $1000 or a jail term of 3 months.They will also be given between 12 and 24 demerit points.
